In case you hadn't noticed, Friends of Fire has been around for ten years. The group started with a small holiday crafts fair at the Unitarian Church and overt the years has worked at keeping the venture going with gallery shows, crafts shows, meetings and an occasional social get together.
The group of individuals who make up Friends of Fire has changed over the years. Ceramic artists have connected to the group or been recruited into it. Artist-craftsmen in other media have come and gone and, in some cases, come back. The ebb and flow of the group has been both the organizations greatest challenge and greatest strength.
"Getting craft- and art-work out in front of the public has always been Friends of Fire's main function. This website is intended to be one more way to do that job. In a few clicks, the people of Friends of Fire will begin to show your their work and a little about the how and why of what they do. Please contact them to continue this dialogue of discovery"
